Early in May, Ama Ghar had its own version of the tragic tornadoes that have blown through Oklahoma. Around midnight on May 6, there was a heavy downpour of rain – a huge, booming thunderstorm with horrendous winds. The wind blew the rain under the balcony doors all the way across the house and swirled like a tornado. The tiles on all overhanging roof areas were lost – and everyone was very scared!
The storm tore tiles off all our overhanging roof areas.
The good news is that all the kids are fine and that our solar panels came through unscathed. But the tiles have to be replaced quickly before the monsoon rains hit… the kids were out the next day picking up tiles and our replacement work has begun. Whew…
