Happy 20th Birthday, Ama Ghar!

children Uncategorized

On August 1, 2021, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of Ama Ghar in front of a beautiful banner bearing everyone’s handprint, which was painted by the children themselves. There was singing, dancing and so much laughter and joy… our wonderful Srijana created posters showing old photos of everyone from 2001 to 2021 and much teasing and hilarity ensued. We wish you all could have been there, but the next best thing would be to come to our Virtual 20th Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, September 30. You’ll see so many old friends – and you will be helping to launch us on the next 20 years of achieving dreams! Enjoy the photo gallery – more to come.

Bonnie welcomed everyone and officially opened the event with the lighting of a candle.
The children sang their traditional Nepali welcome song
The older girls were already in costume for their next events when they sang for the first time.
Here’s a sneak peek at how the banner was made – that was fun!

And now… you’ll have to wait for our Thursday, September 30 event to see the video with interviews, dancing, singing and lots of photos of the children then and now. The event is free, it only lasts an hour, and we promise you’ll be glad you came! Information and registration at amafoundation.ejoinme.org/20thanniversary
