As many of you know, Laxmi is working toward her Bachelor’s degree at University in Pokhara, so we don’t get to see her around the house very often. But she came home to Ama Ghar for a visit during her short summer break, and she was worried because she didn’t have an appropriate dress for a University event she was expected to attend upon her return to Pokhara.
Since most of our clothing is donated by our supporters, we really didn’t have anything appropriate for this occasion. Laxmi knew exactly what she wanted, so she and Bonnie Auntie went to the fabric stores, and Laxmi got to work making her perfect party dress, handmade at Ama Ghar.
As you can see from the photo, the results were stunning – and another example of the resourcefulness our Ama Ghar kids are learning – an important life skill.
