Our Ama Ghar Base Camp Trekking Team

It seems like our amazing Ama Ghar family will go to any lengths to support the children – these three hardy trekkers went all the way to Everest Base Camp!

Board Member Fred Doar (center in red), Bill Stock and Paul Markun visited Ama Ghar during their trip of a lifetime to Everest Base Camp.

Board Member Fred Doar auctioned off opportunities to climb to Everest Base Camp with him and an expert team of guides at our December event – and Paul Markun and Bill Stock were our top bidders. The three intrepid climbers made the trip at the end of April and claimed that even though they had trained strenuously, it was one of the toughest things they’d ever done.

The easiest part of the trip (and we’d like to think the most fun part) was a visit to Ama Ghar to visit Bonnie, the staff and children. It was very special for Fred, who was able to spend some quality time with Pratima, who he has known since she was a small child… now she is married and getting ready to start on her Master’s degree.

Thanks from the bottom of our hearts to these wonderful guys – we hope it was the trip of a lifetime – it meant everything to us.
