Spring has been a busy season at Ama Ghar. The little children were so excited over the Paspanjuli School Spring Fair, a chess tournament and a Tae Kwan Do competition; and the older ones are graduating and getting great news on the work front!
At the Valleywide Tae Kwan Do Championship held in Kathmandu, Rosina received First Place in her group and Bhupi got second place in his age group as well… this is particularly wonderful since Rosina was only released from Intensive Care a few months ago after her injuries in the landslide that occurred at their school. Our children are resilient!
Our older children are becoming adults – they are working diligently on internships and finding new jobs to launch their careers. We are so proud that Sabita received the commendation letter below from the Hyatt organization based on her outstanding service as an intern, and Kalpana P. was just awarded a job in Pokhara, working with an NGO that runs an HIV program. Both of these terrific young women deserve our congratulations!
And last but certainly not least, our Manisha received a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management on March 9 from Silver Hill, a prestigious Hotel Management School, and is awaiting word on a job aboard a cruise ship headed for Italy… she has worked so hard for this that she deserves a cruise to Italy. Her proud Aunties Uma and Bonnie attended her graduation, bearing good wishes from the entire Ama Ghar family.
