Even though the children of Ama Ghar have come from very difficult circumstances, they are still taught how important it is to help others less fortunate. They do community service work in the village where Ama Ghar is located, and they do some field trips as well, like a visit to the Orthopedic Hospital that they made last week.
Children in this hospital are bedridden for long periods of time, and they really enjoy having visitors. Our kids brought stuffed animals, flowers, crayons and origami that had been donated to Ama Ghar so that they could share their treasures with the kids in the hospital.
Pooja, our new little one, gave flowers, as she was not very keen to give up the puppets and stuffed animals! The kids said it was “our best outing”, so we will try to take small groups every 6 weeks if possible. All in all, a fun and inspiring day!
