As many of you know, the SLC is a national examination in Nepal that determines whether or not children can move beyond grade ten and enter into higher education.
This year, Sandesh and Sharmila took the exam and both passed – this is a real rite of passage in Nepal and we always enjoy having a big celebration for our SLC graduates at Ama Ghar!
Sandesh and Sharmila invited friends over to join with the Ama Ghar family for their celebration – plus we had a tika blessing, speeches, singing and dancing. The honorees always get to choose the menu for the party, too, and this year we had sausages, chips, fruit salad, cake and soft drinks.
Looking to the future, Sandesh will soon be taking an entrance exam for a three year Certificate Course in Architecture. Sharmila has started Class 11 and hopes to be an Accountant some day. Please join us in sending congratulations and good luck to both of them!
