Sustainability Curriculum:

Our Goals for Students

Sustainable design and the Environment: a future-focused after-school curriculum to develop Ama Foundation’s students into climate-stuarts and productive adults.

Ama Foundation plans to create an educational after-school student curriculum for conservation and clean-tech. Donate Today.

Our 5-pronged approach

1. Staff and Teacher Training:

Provide staff and teachers from our children’s schools with training and up-to-date resources to help their students to learn about renewable energy resources and become smart energy managers. Implement innovative “green” curriculum lessons in the classrooms.

2. After-School Educational Programming:

Provide a comprehensive educational program and sustainability curriculum designed to empower elementary, middle- and high school students with the knowledge to manage energy use in their homes, schools and community.

Provide:

  • Activity-based educational materials on energy and the environment
  • Unique environmental learning opportunities for our live-in students and our scholarship recipients

Students learn in our organic garden.

3. Children Learn and Teach their Community:

Cultivate the next generation of “green” professional and vocational workers in Nepal. Create a virtual green career development community for high-school students to connect with international subject matter experts from industry, academic institutions, non-profit and community partners. Exchange information and advice about developing and entering existing and emerging green careers.

5. Sustainable Open House Days:

Teach the community: Once a year host an educational day where members of the community get access to Ama Foundations environmental curriculum and hands-on training, spanning the approaches of environmental conservation and energy efficiency applied at Ama Foundation.
