On June 26, our Board Member Sarah Pinkin co-hosted (along with Darrius Anderson) a delightful Nepali Happy Hour event at The General’s Daughter in Sonoma, California.

Happy guests at Sarah's delicious buffet.

A group of 50 gathered for wine and happy hour snacks – Shangrila Restaurant provided two Nepali dishes and Sonoma Meals created super tasty rice and garbanzo bean dishes, with wonderful cookies by Milk and Honey for dessert. As a special treat, plates of special Nepali dried fruit candies (Lopsee) were scattered around the room.

The venue was lovely, decorated with simple strings of small prayer flags and posters showing activities of the children of Ama Ghar, created by our former Ama Foundation Board Chairman, Paramesh Adhikari.

Bonnie spoke movingly as always about the mission of Ama Ghar and asked people to be involved by Supporting a Child. Board Member Fred Doar followed with his testimony about how fulfiling it has been for him to be involved with Ama Foundation and the children of Ama Ghar.

Many thanks to all of our donors, who made this a profitable event for the children of Ama Ghar – we raised about $2,600 for our operating fund!
