It’s festival season in Nepal, and the children have been enjoying their school vacation, celebrating the recent Dashain festival, and preparing for Tihar in November. Dashain is the longest (15 days) and most important Hindu festival in Nepal. Our Dashain celebrations were filled with fun as the children harvested the rice we planted back in June, built our traditional bamboo swing called a ping, enjoyed card games and friendly gambling, and received blessings from their elders on Vijaya Dashami (aka Tika Day). Some of our alumni returned to receive blessings, which makes Tika Day even more special. Enjoy pictures of this wonderful festival below!
