The yoga community has really pulled together to support our earthquake relief efforts in Nepal – thanks to the many of you who have contributed!
One of the best stories is of our “Brendan Uncle”, who visited the children back in 2007. He was very popular with the children because he played the guitar and sang… he spent happy hours teaching the boys to play guitar, and even wrote a song “A Place Called Ama Ghar” that he sang for the children during his farewell ceremony the night before he left. He went with us on a trip to the Sunkoshi River, rafting and hiking… and he left a little piece of his heart here at Ama Ghar.
So it was not surprising that Brendan, who now teaches at Devotion Yoga & Wellness in New Jersey, sponsored the 108 Sun Salutations for Nepal on June 14, a program that brought in over $1,000 for earthquake relief. Thank you to Brendan and friends for your compassion and generosity.
In addition, Yoga4Nepal, the Santa Barbara Yoga Center and others involved in the practice have all been so generous with their gifts… we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and what can we say but “Namaste”.
