Holi – also known as the Festival of Colors – is one of the most important festivals in Hinduism, and it’s certainly one of the most exciting and just plain fun holidays anywhere.

Holi celebrates the victory of good over evil and the coming of spring. It falls on the first full moon day in the Nepali month of Fagu (February-March in the western calendar) and lasts for two days – this year it was celebrated on March 20-21.

The Ama Ghar kids look upon Holi as an excuse to have water balloon fights and throw colored tika powder all over each other – any excuse for running, laughing and screaming is great news for us!

Enjoy these photos and help us to celebrate the triumph of good over evil – wishing a happy spring to our Ama Ghar family around the world.
