Our friends at Moldovan Academy, a private pre-school in San Francisco, honored us with a fundraiser, called Art in the Park, on a beautiful day in September. To celebrate Moldovan’s 10th anniversary, the Academy put on ten fundraisers throughout the year, culminating in the grand finale, called Art in the Park, to benefit Ama Foundation.
As you might guess, the event featured children’s art, from Ama Ghar children and from students at Moldovan, who were taught a whole special unit on Nepal. Their art included elephant collages, paintings of Nepal flowers and even tiles painted with a map of Nepal.
And no one went hungry on this beautiful afternoon. Our founder, Shrawan Nepali, and his colleagues at Curry without Worry served up delicious dal baht and there was even a cake featuring a painting done by one of the Ama Ghar children. The silent auction offered treasures to lucky bidders, including Nepali handicrafts and even a pair of Warriors tickets! And the best part was that Bonnie Auntie came all the way from Nepal to join us.
Thank you to Moldovan Academy – especially Kathleen Moldovan – for all the hard work involved in putting together this wonderful event – it helped to increase our education and counseling fund, which was sorely needed. If anyone in the Ama Ghar family anywhere in the world wants to put on a fundraiser like this, we’re here to help! Send us an email at info@ama-foundation.org

We have all been deeply touched by your amazing organization. It was completely our pleasure to help raise awareness and a little money for all the good you do for the children of Nepal. You are all angels! Wishing you many more blessings. Namaste, Kathleen
