Even when we’re on vacation, there’s so much to learn! The Ama Ghar kids went on a field trip to Doko Recyclers, where they got a tour and a lesson in recycling. We got metal items for re-use and the boys found magnets, chains and some computer parts they can use for their projects.
We send our sorted items to Doko for proper disposal to save our landfill- in fact, you can see our old pink spinner in the background of the photo. And our neighborhood plan to keep the river that flows by Ama Ghar clean is working, too – we pay one rupee per plastic bottle to the village children and then we take them to recycle.
