On November 7 and 8, Ama Foundation Board Member Fred Doar hosted a showing of his art ties and gentleman’s accessories in Mill Valley, California, with all profits donated to support Ama Ghar.
The event was a great success, with over 50 people attending each night and sales of 20 ties, 12 scarves and 6 micro paintings, resulting in a donation of over $3,200.
According to Fred, who sells his menswear under the label Planet Freddo, the nicest moment of the evening came when a young boy, who was really intent on learning more about the Ama Ghar children, was being pulled away by his mother, who wanted to leave. The boy came over to Fred, took out his wallet and gave all the money he had – $2.00 – as a donation.
