We are so proud of our Ama Ghar alum Anish Lama, who has been trained as a trekking guide and was chosen to join a medical team for a medivac mission to Sindhupalchowk, one of the areas hardest hit by the earthquakes.
The team was composed of two Nepali nurses, doctors from Spain and Iran, and Nepali guides. They set up medic camps in Ghipche and Jyamling and helped to evacuate critically ill patients by helicopter.
When Anish got his trekking guide certification, he probably didn’t expect this to be on his resume – but we’re so pleased that he has been able to help in such a meaningful way. Good work, Anish!

Namaste! So good to hear wonderful stories of how Ama Ghar alum are spreading out in the world beyond Ama Ghar and carrying out what Ama Ghar has been modelling so well—unselfish giving and love–caring for others who need assistance. Thank you Ama Ghar, for providing such great role models for the children! Cheers! Melodie
