Christmas at Ama Ghar, like Christmas everywhere, is always exciting for the children. Though most of the children are Hindu or Buddhist, they are taught that Christmas is a time of peace, joy and giving.
All the children and staff receive small gifts of sweets and trinkets, but the most fun part of the holiday is baking cookies in our Ama Ghar oven, fueled by the briquettes that the children make in preparation for the holiday.
And, of course, since this is Ama Ghar – there’s a lot of music, dancing and Christmas crafts!
