Renita Thapa lives in the U.S., but she has visited Nepal, the country of her family’s origin, several times. The first time she came to Nepal, in 2002, she and her mother and father visited Ama Ghar, where she made many friends. She has kept in touch over the last nine years, and asked her parents if she could come back to see her friends at Ama Ghar and help them with their English, as part of her commitment to a Girl Scout project.
Renita and her family came to Ama Ghar in July, and Renita had a wonderful time with her Ama Ghar friends, playing Scrabble and reading books. It was a great way for her to connect with her father’s culture, and we hope she’ll be back again soon. Thanks, Renita!
