Our Mission

The Ama Foundation funds Ama Ghar, a permanent care home in Nepal for at-risk children who have been abandoned, trafficked, or have lost their home and family to poverty, substance abuse or illness.

We are dedicated to providing these children with a loving home, an excellent education, health care, and the confidence to become productive, self-supporting adults. We are investing in the future of Nepal by educating the mothers and fathers, teachers, business leaders, social workers, and professionals of the next generation.

Treating each child as an individual and raising them in a loving family environment.

Providing each child with the training they need to become confident, productive, self-sustaining adults.
Training is tailored to each child’s individual interests and skills. In some cases, this means technical and vocational education and training and in others it means through their Bachelor’s degree.

Teaching the Ama Ghar children about their civic and community responsibilities
and engaging them in the life of their local village, their city, and their country.
