Cathy joined the Ama Foundation in 2011 as the Communications Director, supporting the Board of Directors in overseeing programs, development, donor relations, social media and finances. She currently manages all day to day operations and works with the Board on the realization of the Foundation’s goals and mission. Cathy was Secretary of the Ama Foundation Board from 2009-2011 and was an Ama Ghar volunteer. Along with her husband, she has visited the Ama Ghar children in Nepal 14 times since 2003 and has enjoyed the pleasure and privilege of watching them grow up. A lifelong marketer, she is also a contractor for the Walton Sustainability Solutions Initiatives, part of the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability at Arizona State University.

Barbara first visited Nepal in 1969, and fell in love with the land and the people. Born and educated in Australia, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1974, and worked for many years in the biotech industry. Now retired, she is able to spend much of her time indulging her interests in painting, gardening, travel and cats, and is proud to be able to help the children of Nepal as a volunteer for the Ama Foundation.
